Recently, six men from our church took a men’s trip to Central Australia to encourage one of our workers. David Blackman has served with Wycliffe/SIL translating the Bible into the Alyawarr language. Epenarra is in the heart of the Alyawarr region.
In Alice Springs we held a couple of men’s small group sessions with David. We aimed to encourage him, and each other in our roles of godly man and godly father.
We also ran a men’s night on the topic of fathering for the men of Alice Springs Baptist Church.
After that, David and his co-worker, David Strickland, guided us to Epenarra where we participated in the community and its small church.
The visit was an important for us as a team of men, and also important because we had previously financed a church structure for Epenarra as part of our own building programme.
We delivered a wooden cross made from timber from our old church.
The six men in our team were wholly impressed with the caliber of the two Davids who had both carved out years of their lives to serve in these communities.

How the Alyawarr church shares the gospel.

The team and the cross we brought.

Playing with the kids.
