Parkside Church Vision stuff
Thursday 30th, June
posted by: JON
Recently there has been an opening in the discussion on the areas of where the church at Parkside sees its areas of interest .
These had been identified as
Parkside school
Flats on George street
Overseas mission
There was another but cant remember
ok so the leadership at parkside are trying to galvanize these ideas and really see is the above the way to go.
In the beginning there was the bible , and church history says we have the Baptist way of interpreting it , so the SABU put a few rules on to that as well , and then we have the church constitution which has a few more rules as well on the faith that i think i have .
There are so many rules on the faith that i have it hard to work out the right direction. but the bible does say work out your faith with fear and trembling ( but dont let it get you down in the process ) .
So where am I going with this , is it time to get rid of the constitution as a church . or amend it so it cant get in the way.
I am all for simplifying things and making less rules outside of what the bible may say.
Enough for my morning quiet tiem , it is now 6:00 in the morning and i need to get ready for work , eat the braekfast , get the lunch, get the bus for a 7:30 start.
bye for now

Wow… A well done reminder about how visitors must feel when they come to church.
Even though church is a chance to catch up with our friends, we should really work hard to make visitors feel welcome.
BTW: Welcomed is not the same as processed!

A Resurrection That Matters
If we are completely saved from our sins through the Cross, what’s the point of the empty tomb?

Emily’s List
Monday 15th, March
posted by: David Smith
Today I received an unsigned letter informing me that the local Labor candidate for Unley was endorsed by Emily’s list. A quick check of their website http://www.emilyslist.org.au confirmed it. (There’s a link to the SA 2010 elections.) If abortion is an issue for you, then you may want to check if your local candidate is listed too.

Great One Liners
Monday 15th, February
posted by: David Smith
I’m on the hunt for some great one liners for the PowerPoint notices each Sunday…
(You may have noticed them getting lamer each week!)
They need to be clean, funny and not derogatory. I know, that cuts out most of them!

24/7 Prayer and worship in song.
Thursday 17th, December
posted by: Far a field
Be a part of something special. 24 hours of prayer and worship in song. We have all the blocks filled with people taking responsibility for different forms of prayer and worship. Now its time to simply join in. Drop in for 10 minutes or stay for hours.
Feel free to bring an instrument, especially to the evening time of congregational worship and spontaneity. It would be great to have a band of sorts to jam together.
So that you can plan ahead, it will look something like this:
Dec 19 - 10:30 -12:00pm Boyd - Songs of adoration
12:00pm-2:00pm - Chloe - intercession / hearing God / meditative music
2pm-4:00pm - Ribka and Ava - a journey in prayer stations
4pm-4:30pm - Kirsty and kids in worship
4:30-6:00pm - Josie and friends (all welcome)
6pm-10pm - Boyd (and anyone who wants to help) - congregational worship in song. Missional songs with room for spontaneity.
10:00pm-12:00pm - In the stillness; Night time worship
Dec 20- 12:00am-2:00am - In the stillness; Night time worship
2:00am-4:00am - In the stillness; Night time worship
4:00am-6:00am - In the stillness; Night time worship
6:00 - 8:00am - Early morning meditation
8:00am- 10:00am - Practice in an attitude of worship.
10:00 - Service.
